@topaz1116 I heard of MUN as well!! Sounds fun. I’m participating in YMCA’s Youth and Government! I think they are similar programs, if you’re interested
Yearbook and SGA mainly. I also enjoyed Mock Trial. Can’t wait for next year
@TheSlacker16 Cool!! What is SGA?
Student Government Association. There are like seven different groups (branches if you will) we launch fundraising strategies (pizza/ice cream sales, baked goods, etc), school spirit activities (flag football between junior/senior girls, Homecoming week) and so much more. Each grade has their own SGA and advisers but the umbrella that overshadows us is simply called the SGA lol.
Im all about Theater and Year Book.
Model United Nations! This year, I got to travel to Hong Kong for Harvard Model Congress, which is a government simulation conference. Debating about how to make the world a better place is really fun.
I also like this club I’m in called Student 2 Student. It’s a club where we help new students adapt to our school. There are always new students coming to our school, so I think this is a really important club for us. We host a lot of parties and game nights for the new students!
If you’re interested in robotics, try FIRST robotics (FTC or FRC). It’s a great opportunity to learn about STEM and meet a lot of great people at the same time. You can also win thousands in scholarships, and the robotic competitions are amazing!
I hate them all
I really like class government and student council (which are intertwined in my school) I actually have an officer position on the executive board(high up) for senior year.
Yearbook
Martial arts (it was SO hard)
Dance (outside of school)
DECA and FBLA were probably the two that really did it for me.
Students Run insert name of city (train for marathon
Piano
Violin
Speech and Debate… I’m pretty good except I’m always a nervous mess. That better change this year.
yeah @sprights I’m hoping to get better at public speaking also
Choir, Orchestra, and Junior World Affairs Council are the main things keeping me sane throughout the school year. There’s always an awesome trip every year from each.
For me I like Youth and Government, and I’m looking into joining JSA (Junior State of America)
As previous others have mentioned, Model UN is the best. The conferences have been some of my best memories so far! Also if you want to do something with public speaking see if your school has a Forensics team, there is a category for everyone there.
Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, possibly coaching a Science Olympiad team, Linguistics Olympiad, Chess Club, Music Outreach, and Bighorn Society ftw
