Extracurriculars / Volunteering?

Can anyone recommend some last minute things to do that might improve me chances when I transfer? I currently have five hours of volunteering, and am guessing I should not include that on my app? I will also have PTK and a tutoring job at my college for ~1 month before I apply. Any tips to improve? Thanks

Join your local Circle K/Rotary/Interact/Kiwani/etc. community service club. They are a fantastic way to meet people, network, and you can add tons of volunteering hours while still having fun

Become a tutor (bonus points if you tutor in the major you are applying).

Join on-campus clubs that interest you and take LEADERSHIP positions within the group. This is where quality trumps quantity. Schools don’t care if you joined 10 clubs. In all honesty, they would rather have a person in 2 clubs if it meant they were committed and involved. Schools love people who become treasurers, presidents, etc.

I didn’t do any volunteer work other than a small amount of hours in HS and i still got accepted

Unless you have your sights on UCB or UCLA, you won’t have a problem getting accepted without them. Volunteer because you want to.
