Extracurriculars?

I'm a sophomore and currently my extracurriculars are: philosophy club, student respect commitee, BELIEV (helps children's specialized hospital)

I know that my extracurriculars are NOT a bucket list. I'm really into them and passionate about them. I was appointed onto the Student Respect Commitee which basically tries to make our school a better place where people can be comfortable. However, I'm worried that this many clubs still isn't enough.

Also, this is my first year of American high school and I did not have a freshman year, if that makes a difference.

bump…
I don’t want sugarcoated. I just want to know, if anyone has an opinion about this?

It’s not about the number of ECs, but how much you do with them.

One EC that you can write a great essay about and spent lots of time on and committed yourself to very deeply is far better than 10 ECs that you can’t talk much more about than “Well, I was in [Club X].”

Clubs will rarely make a difference in college admissions unless you do something impressive within that club–organize a huge food drive, etc.

Place your energy into your GPA. Unless your EC’s are unique they will have little influence on college admissions.
Too much time is placed on sports and EC’s. GPA and preparation for the SAT should be the focus. These two stats need to be competitive. I have seen the fluff and exaggeration used for ec’s with excellent outcomes in admissions, as long as the gpa and SAT are excellent.
