Extracurriculars

I have been reading on the forums a lot that Penn would rather see a student who is really involved in a few extracurriculars rather than many. However, I am really passionate about four clubs and have board positions in all of these clubs. I am really passionate about FBLA and am currently president, but does being involved in several clubs look bad?

Thanks

I think that many of the instances in which a lot of extracurriculars looks “bad” is when applicants will have 10 clubs without any involvement or passion within those clubs. It sounds like you are quite involved and care about your clubs as well as having board positions. As long as you could write or talk freely about the experiences you’ve had in these clubs and how they’ve impacted you, I think it would be an advantage on the application instead of a negative.
