Alright, so before I ask my question, I guess I should give you some background info. Well, I just started my junior year in high school about a week and a half ago and I'm currently contemplating on my ECs. I'm trying to get involved with the school because 1) I want to and 2) it looks good on college applications. I've been told both stories: "Oh, you have to join every club the school offers'" or "Pick out the clubs you like the most and keep it like that." I'm looking for genuine verification on whether or not to join a lot of clubs or pick the ones you like.
I participate in my school's baseball team, FBLA (or Business Club), National Honor Society, Key Club, and Math Club. Now some of you may think I'm over doing it, but these are the ones I've picked out because I have interest in them. I love math, baseball, business-related topics, and helping out and building my character. Now the problem is, there is this club called the "Interact Club." I think it's a club for community services, but I'm not sure. All I here about the club is that it's full of people who are in it just for the doughnuts and to tell jokes every meeting. Although it still serves a purpose, I'm not sure if joining it would be a very good idea. The only good things coming out of joining it would be that I could potentially do more community service and that it would be another club to add my my applications for colleges. I would like to join if it would be the right move.
This is where the two stories come in (join many, or join the select few). So the primary question is if I should join Interact club or not?
Thanks for the feedback.

Join and/or stay in the clubs that interest you. Shed or avoid the ones that don’t interest you. Your GPA in a rigorous schedule should always be your primary focus.

1) most colleges don’t care about your club list or volunteer hours, etc. 2) the ones that do are the ultra selective ones where super ECs distinguish btn a bevy of top applicants. At this point, you should already know if you’re viable for those sorts of schools or not.

So – you should take clubs that interest and expand your experience. You’re either already #2 or not and the decision to join one other club is irrelevant to that status. Those that say “join everything” are numbskulls and lemmings. Don’t be a lemming.

EDIT: I saw some of the schools you’re contemplating. If your level of involvement in your current ECs includes actual leadership and influence, then you’re fine. If not, then you should see how you can grow in your influence. Regardless, I’d avoid adding another club like the plague and stay with the ones you’re already invested.
