If you can see if you can go into a biology or science program designed for HS students. Summer programs like these look VERY good on your application as they cater to your major and your interest. Programs like SMASH (Summer Math and Science Honors) look good.

EX. I am applying to school as a journalism major, I have gotten accepted into journalism programs, write my own blog, in yearbook etc.

Right there, you see there is a spike.

If you have trouble garnering interest in your clubs, but can’t find opportunities outside of your school be persistent in trying to create interest in the subjects your passionate about.
