Extremely bad SAT Subject scores, should I even submit them?

I took the U.S. History Subject test and the Math II Subject test and scored 600 and 530 on them respectively. I know how bad these scores are, especially the math score. I didn’t even get close to breaking the 700 mark. I did study for these tests but I assume I didn’t so enough. My question is should I even bother submitting these to colleges? Does it look better to have taken them, even if I did as bad as I did? I’m aiming for UCLA, UCI, UCR, UCSD, etc.

Also, I should note my SAT score which was 1260 on the new SAT. Not too well, I know, but I have studied and am currently studying this summer and plan to retake this and hopefully gain another 200 points into 1460. Being a senior, I think it best to retake the SAT instead of the Subject tests as I have one more shot at either this coming year.

It depends on which college within each university to which you’re applying.

None of the UC’s require SAT 2 subject test scores. Some of the UC’s have recommended Subject tests, but if you are not happy with your scores, do not submit them. My understanding about UC’s and Subject tests scores are that they could only enhance your application but not negatively impact it. If you want retake them, that is fine but I would put more effort into the regular SAT since your Math + CR score will have more of an impact.
