So I got the following message:
Your current University of Maryland Bill is now available
for online viewing. You can conveniently view your monthly
billing statement at: University of Maryland | Testudo | Financials

Allow others to log in, view and pay your bill by creating a separate
PIN for them via University of Maryland | Testudo | Parent Access You may
also add up to three additional emails to receive bill information from
within the "View Monthly Billing Statement" link.

Thank You
University of Maryland
Financial Service Center

I click on the links and it directs me to pages where they require SID and university users...
I don't recall recieving any SIDs or PINs etc. Did they mistakenly send it to me? They still haven't reached a decision for me. I THOUGHT it was about my 55 app fee but apparently it isn't

Don’t worry about it unless you owe them your application fee or something. Even when there’s no balance they send out those emails. Your SID is your directory id or UID# (found at the bottom of your acceptance page at the admissions site, but no decision has been made for you, so I wouldn’t worry about the bill). If I remember correctly, you don’t get to set your testudo password until you formally enter the university. I think you should get a paper copy of the bill if you owe money since you’re a prospective student.

If you haven’t been given any log-in information (i.e. you don’t know your UID, haven’t been assigned a SID) since you haven’t been admitted yet, I don’t think you’ll be able to log-in yet. If you’re still unsure, I’d suggest calling the Office of the Bursar, because they’d be able to tell you more specifically about your account: 301-314-9000

IN GENERAL:

The SID, UID, and Directory ID are three completely different things. Your UID is the 9 digit number you got with your acceptance (it should start with a couple ones). The Directory ID is the first part of your e-mail address (before the @umd.edu), and is how you log-on to many/most university systems. You can set that up here: [OIT Welcome - Office of Information Technology (OIT)](http://www.oit.umd.edu/new/student.html). The SID is generally given to students who don’t have a social security number, or is a way for parents to access some financial information (provided that their students give them permission to do so).

You should set up a directory ID (and a password!) before you come to UMD, since you need that to register for an orientation program, take the math placement exam, etc. (You can do that on the link above).

To see the bill, go to "http://www.testudo.umd.edu/Financials.html" and click on “View Monthly Billing Statement,” which will take you to a page with the directory ID login.
