I hope no one else has been affected by errors in admissons processing the our son has been. He is still waiting for a decision, but even if it is positive, it won't matter because CMU claims not to have the necessary paperwork to process his financial aid request.

They posted his ACT scores (even higher than his SATs) as received in December but never posted the numbers, so he won't get any benefit from those scores in the decision. (The admissions office says they just "weren't processed.") Then we noticed that his FAFSA was marked as missing. So we called the admissions office and were told we had probably used the wrong number. Of course we had not, as was proven by the SAR, which listed the correct code. But we sent the printout of the SAR to Pittsburgh anyway because the office said that would allow them to pull the FAFSA from the web for us and complete the file.

The SAR is listed as there now but still no FAFSA and now they tell us--over a week later--that they have to have a paper FAFSA. This is becoming Kafka-esque.

Thank God he has other good options.
