extremely low SAT,chance me please

<p>I came to America two years ago as an exchange student.I applied for Green Card in the following year and got it in Feb. I went to high school in China in my freshman year. The second year in Washington State and did not take a lot of hard courses(they did not have a lot either), Junior year came to Upstate NY</p>

<p>SAT: 410 CR(I know) 750 M 500 W
SAT: 690(math 2) 720(chem)
GPA: 4.8/5.5 (5.5=A+,5=A,4.5=A-)
AP: calculus AB 5 and taking AP Physics now
TOEFL:102/120,IBT</p>

Calligraphy Club-9th( we don't have a lot of activities in China)
volunteer to clean classroom-9th grade
teach elders in the community English-9th grade

<p>I have really really low SATs, so I don't know what college I might have a chance to get in.
Some people told me I should apply for more private schools instead of public ones. Do you have any suggestions what other college I should apply for? Which colleges don't really care about SATs but have a good engineering or mathematic program. I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys! Thanks!</p>

<p>I would highly suggest getting tutoring and getting your SAT up because you have a great shot at some of those schools if you do. Your math is fine, but you have to get your reading up a lot.</p>

I guess the only way i can get my sat cr part up is to memorize a lot of vocab. do i still have time to do that? i mean can i still take sat in Jan and send the score to the schools even though their deadline is on 01/01?

<p>It depends on when they send decisions out really. I would definely take it again though.</p>

<p>please tell me you’re joking when you say you want to do mechanical engineering at the University of Chicago. this reeks of a lack of research and additions motivated by nothing except your perceived notion of prestige.</p>
