Has anyone checked their financial aid? and found out how much money they are getting back for living expenses and such..Well this thread will show how much people are getting back from their financial aid...

MINE IS.... $ 2,267 but i dont know if housing is payed off yet.. does anybody have any idea if the financial aid credit balance is money for our pocket?
To Check your left over money look at your Financial aid tab and go through that little process of accepting awards. and then come back and put your amount...

Hasn't it occurred to you that financial aid awards are a bit personal? I mean, they can hint at your family's financial situation and whatnot.

I dont think that financial aid really says anything about your family's "financial situation" because taking into account the many scholarships and free money which is recieved.... If anything the left over money you recieve is a means to show how good one took advantage of the free money out there......Y or N

I have about $3000 but I'm 100% sure that housing hasn't been subtracted yet. I'm assuming it's because they haven't reported our housing assignments yet (different rooms cost different amounts). That and I still haven't gotten my cal grant or aca comp. grant.

Well the main purpose for this thread was just to simply ask if housing was charged yet but i think John has answered that for me.. Filabusta didnt mean any offense... I guess i kind of went off topic with my title... oh well its just a forum..... There is a bunch of crap on here anyway.. so im simply just taking taking a ****....

Nah, I'm just saying. If someone has a problem with it, then they just wouldn't post.

Who cares .....if they post this and that $ figure...... it is not like he is giving you his PID/PAC # for you to change his classes or his social security or bank account # for you to withdraw money. Figures are figures. They are just like estimates.

hmmm...I'm a little confused about how you recieve your financial aid money...do you pay your quarterly bill and then get reimbursed? or do you recieve your money in time to use the finaid to pay off your bills?

negative 700 bucks, without housing charge.. :</p>

You can sign up how you want to get your financial aid. I know for loans you can choose between yearly (you get it all right away) or quarterly (it's broke up into 3 disbursements).

do you know when the financial aid will be deposited into our specified bank accounts? cause i signed up for direct deposit and i'm waiting for it to show up in my account. thanks

I got an email that said extra financial aid money would be sent to our bank accounts on September 25th if we signed up for direct deposit.

So the direct deposit email only pertains to leftover financial aid money?

i dont realy understand this money stuff, lol....i have about like 3,524 in balance...not including housing.....i got alot of finacial aid...but i dont how to find out how much money im getting for living expenses.

check the housing website to determine 2007 costs for your room (single, double, or triple). divide the cost by three and subtract that from your balance. not exactly rocket science..

lol, i know that. But I mean like money for living expenses not housing, but thanks.

im not sure what you mean by "living expenses." i think all financial aid money has shown up on the account, with the exception of loans, (at least for me anyways) and the only thing that SD has not subtracted is the housing cost. since housing includes food, whatever money you have left will probably be considered living expenses.

When do you sign up? I've already accepted my financial aid, but I haven't seen anything about choosing "yearly" or "quarterly" for loans or anything yet...:/
