There are tons of threads suggesting a strong correlation between a NON-AUTOMATED FA email from Princeton in mid to late march and admission. I thought I’d start one for 2017 to further collect evidence. If you got a non-automated FA email from Princeton requesting W-2 forms for example, please reply here with the date you received the email and then check back in later w/ your admission decision.
I have received an email asking for my PFAA on Feb 28. I submitted within a few days, but I have not uploaded any tax return/W-2 forms. I paid to have a CSS profile sent to them, so I was kinda shocked to find out that they don’t accept it. I still wonder what exactly did I pay for then. I have not received an email from them since.
The financial aid office is completely different from the admissions office. The FA office needs to have your package ready by decision day so if you’re admitted you know how much FA you’re getting.
I received a Feb. 28th request for PFAA/W-2s which I still have not submitted. Pretty sure there is no longer a correlation, as there certainly wasn’t last year according to the 2016 threads.
Are people who didn’t request financial aid getting this notice ? That would be strange.
I got the pfaa email on March 1st,but I don’t think I could be admitted. Hope the correlation would maintain this year
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Closing thread. This has been asked and answered a million times. There is no correlation. There are no tea leaves to be read. Unless you’ve received a likely letter, the only definitive answer is the one you receive on 3/30
