FA emails sent; happy with yours?

I just got an email about my financial aid from Duke (it should be there for everyone, my friend got it too). I personally was very dissapointed. I thought my NU aid was sparse, and it would be a stretch, but Duke somehow managed to offer my less, and almost all in the form of loans. After seeing this, I know there's no way I can attend Duke next year.

I didnt get any email

hmmm...maybe they're doing them in batches by region then

Edit: Here's the email I recieved (as an attachment to a blank message)

Congratulations on your admission to Duke University. We are excited about having you join the Duke community.

Attached for your review is a copy of the financial aid office’s response to your request for assistance. You will receive a printed copy of this document in the next few days. Enclosed will be a series of explanatory documents. If after reviewing this printed material you have questions or concerns, we hope you will contact our office directly. If your financial aid award has been completed your counselor’s name can be found on your award letter.

In those few cases where the email is different than the documents soon to be delivered by the U.S. Post Office, our office will have acted on new information received after the mailing of the printed aid award. The email will contain the more accurate response and will be followed immediately by a corrected award letter sent to your mailing address.

I think so, I'm in ca...

I really need good fa cause I have my heart set on duke

i am in socal. no email for me either

I'm in SC and got one.
I'm kinda dissapointed because my Family Contribution is twice my FAFSA EFC which doesn't make any sense. But oh well, I emailed my counselour to ask about this so who knows.

If the package stays as it is now, there is no way I can make it work.

" my Family Contribution is twice my FAFSA EFC which doesn't make any sense."

Do you have a sibling in university?

I receive 35,000 in aid. Our family contribution is 8500. If I'm not mistaken, that's a pretty good deal?

My aid sucks really badly. I really wanted to go to Duke, but we cannot afford it. It makes me quite sad actually! I dont know what I am going to do!

very satisfied!

haha, my email consisted of: "ur missing the following 3945803458 pages of info. send them in NOW"

No I don't have a sibling in college so I am waiting for an email back from my FA counselour.

Very happy. My Duke EFC is around $4000 less than my FAFSA EFC...good deal.

I think I accidentally deleted the e-mail.

Now I have to wait for the letter, darn it.

I am disappointed... my EFC (which was WAY too high to begin with) was $37,000... Duke expects my family to pay $42,000. Is it possible to appeal the decision? How does the appeal process work?

That was fast! I just got mine in the mail...My FA is not very good. At all.

VERY satisfied

VERY Unsatisfied

unsatisifed, tho more than other colleges gave me

right inline with Fafsa EFC...... will be able to compare to Harvard FA tonight
