FA for International Students... or not?

Ok. I'm been digging around for previous posts about this, and suffice to say, I haven't really found anything informative.

I'm a student who's currently living in the US. I've been here for 9 years or so, but I don't have a greencard much less citizenship (due to the variety of current events such as 9/11 and the economy). I'm wondering if any of you guys can help me figure out what kind of stuff I have to do for finaid.

Also, can I apply for finaid through FAFSA/PROFILE? People say it's for citizens and eligible non-citizens (for which I don't qualify), but am I suppose to fill those out anyway since my family has been filing federal tax returns?

Thanks.

You need to find out what kind of visa you have, and then you need to contact the international admissions offices of the colleges and universities that interest you. There are lots of kids like you in the US, so they will know what to tell you to do. Each school might have different financial aid application requirements, so don't be surprised if they ask you for different things!

Good luck!
