I'm really sorry cantwait. I thought they met 100% of financial aid for students but I guess not. Hope something works out for you.

Good luck.

Woodlands_Kid,

I got about the same thing as you, but I'm negoiatiting.

Emory does meet 100% of demonstrated need. Camtwait, you must have exenuating circumstances.

vtoodler,

just wondering what your efc and package was and why you're negotiating.

Also, tell me if it works and what you did so that I can squeeze more money too.

I would greatly appreciate it.

Emory is stingy as hell, I know, Im going there. You have to have some pretty spotless creds to get accepted into the program. Then you have to run the gauntlet to recieve money. Have fun with that.

vtoodler, I don't have any exenuating circumstances at all. I contacted them and all they said was I'll have to wait until at the end of the month or in the beginning of May for my file to be reviewed, which is ridiculous.

cantwait,

Was your file late? Because I know that Emory isn't very nice to applicants who file late financial aid packages. I simply can't understand why they'd give you so little money.

Heyo,
My sister applied to Emory for Grad studies last year and was accepted. She defered admission by a year and this year her financial aid has been reduced drastically. Out of the $50,000 that it costs per year, she is only getting $15,000. You can probably surmise how much our family can afford by the fact that Colby College has asked me to pay all of $900. We are international students and can ill-afford Emory at this cost. Please help, we have no idea what to do! Are there any scholarships we can apply for? Thank- you so much!

memyselfandi,

Grad students don't get much aid. Even harvard, the richest school in the richest country in the world, gives scanty aid to grad students.

That being said, I think that your sister should look into graduate fellowships and scholarships to help fund her education. Your sister should also look into graduate internships because those usually pay nicely.
