FA letter date...

Mar 13th from Chris Plumb asking for everything. Generic, but then again I was missing EVERYTHING, so there's no point in a more specific e-mail.

Brief stats: Deferred Harvard EA, 35 ACT, 730/740/760, 1/220, lots of political/leadership ECs on my app, very strong mid-year report, added extra rec from someone I lobbied with in Washington. Interview went well, etc.

When you say everything, do you mean FAFSA, Profile, all of that?

Yes BCgoUSC, I have not sent anything to colleges pertaining to financial aid. I originally marked "will apply" on my apps, but changed mind after looking at some rough EFC numbers.

If I indicated on my applicaiton that I was going to apply for financial aid, but haven't sent anything, and I didn't get an email asking me to send everything, is that a possible indication that I have been rejected? Note: I'm International. Thanks for answering.

Rudess - we can only speculate... all the people on here thinks that if they didnt get anytihng, they got rejected... and if you got emails this late in the process, you're in.. but thats all speculation. we will know for sure in three days..

I really don't think all this speculation is healthy.

For example, I sent in all of my required financial aid material. Therefore, I didn't get an email asking for my financial aid material.

Try not to worry, everyone - we will know in less than three days...:)

some internationals have also gotten the mail. but i'm not sure. when is the earliest date in which they could have made any final decisoin? is march 10th too early.

internationals are way different though...

im just wondering, who else got the personalized emails starting with "Dear (your name)", etc.

MARCH 1-28
notHIN!...
NOTHIN...
...im worried about this..and a thread is made about it..perrrfect...hehe

okay..tata..:</p>

rudeness....uve been rejected....and i have toooooo........!!!!!!!:(

i got a personalized email...

domestic

in at williams, bu, nyu, mich, caltech; likely at columbia; deferred and rejected at MIT

do you guys think the e-mail means much?

Here's something I find interesting. Last week, I called up the harvard financial aid office to ask what I was missing. The person that I talked to told me that I was missing some tax returns etc.

He told me to fax the stuff to Harvard, but to write "attn: Chris Plumb" on all of them.

hmmmmm..what do u think will happen to those who really think they got in because of this FA sign..

i mean we, the people who havent received anything, expect rejection but what about those who are expecting an acceptance based on this?

wow...thatll be some *****

lol. seeing stats like James and some of the other people makes me believe that the letter definitely means something...

James - Princetonwannabe called and asked... and Harvard FA said they only complete FA for admitted students. Take that to what you want it to. = P

lets see.. the sum of these people on this page who got the emails have gotten into MIT EA,MIT RD,Caltech RD,Dartmouth likely,Yale and Amherst(in the case of Davidrune)... not to mention several URMs and First-generation college students......

I like being included in this group. lol

oh... and I got into Yale and Amherst.

hehe. School itself isn't healthy. :) I can't wait to see if this speculation is correct.

it'd be hilarious if everybody that received a letter from Mr. Plumb doesn't get in.

right now.i just wanna dig my own grave and fall into it....i feel soo dead...ugh...if this speculation is correct..which i think it is....then i dont know i feeeel really stupid..:.....this thread i think has depressed me more than the actual rejection letter alone could..

david - well, then when i go to MIT, they can expect a couple extra "hacks" courtesy of me....
