so, uh..anyone really happy with their FA packets?

I'm real UNhappy. They expect me to take out roughly 140k in loans? So long Stevens.

$20,000 in scholarships(guaranteed yearly so long as GPA is 3.2+)
$3,500 in federal low-interest loans
Basically got half-tuition so I'm happy

i'm looking at about 10 per year in loans...not sure yet.

My total package was near 30k,....but that's including stafford and perkins loans, leaving about 20 grand for parent/other loans. I can't really complain because it's almost the same at RPI, my other top choice.

Man, it took me forever to get my admitt/FA package from them, but damn...

I decided not to apply to Stevens Scholars, but they gave me the Ann P. Neupauer scholarship - full tuition for all four years! On top of that, they are giving me a couple thousand in loans.

Wow, if I contribute money from a summer job and my parents pitch in a little, I could graduate from Stevens with very few loans.

this is killer

congratulations!!!

WOW please post your stats

Subjective:
Essays (subject and responses): I talked about a couple of pre-amp's that I have designed iirc
Hook: Lots of neat research experience in ECE. Published some stuff while at NASA so that should look good. My GC said my recommendations were some of the best she has read.

Location/Person:
State or Country: VA
School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): public school with IB program that usually gets top 10 into ivy's
Ethnicity: White

Income Bracket: lower middle class
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
Strengths: Independent study of circuit theory, self-designed pre-amps, NASA/JLab research
Weaknesses: GPA. I spent too much time playing bass and building things to study in 9/10/early11 grade. I have straight A's now, but I managed to pull a C in precal in 10th grade

Interview: it went great, thats probably my best hook if ahything. It was on the phone but lasted about 1.5 hours, she seemed really impressed with my passion for research and my independent circuit theory study. She kept talking up the Stevens Scholars program and telling me how I should apply for it etc. I think thats really what did it.
