For schools like NYU, CMU, etc., do we have to apply for Finaid each year? For example if I don't this year can I next year if my EFC changes?

Also, if any parent knows, what credit bureau does the US Dpt of education use for parent plus loans? I have read that it's Equifax. I doubt they use all three.

All schools require you apply for FA each year since you financial situation changes every year.

There are some schools where you have to apply for FA as a fr applicant in order to qualify subsequent years, others permit you to not apply as a fr but do so later if your situation changes. You need to read the FA websites for schools carefully and call them if they don’t state their policy.

^^Sorry, maybe I worded that wrong, they require you to apply if you want to be considered. Of course you don’t have to apply if you choose not to.

Yes, I believe on the CA, there is a box to check about applying for FA.
