I had expected next to no help at all, but when I checked my EFan today, i'll be getting a generous $17k in grants and aid!

The only issue is that, because I was expecting next to nothing, I chose the housing payment plan "A" and have already contributed $3200 of my own saved cash for the initial payment.

I was planning on using my (chapter 31) GI bill to pay for it all (They pay all expenses (tuition + associated fees) up to the most expensive public school in the state, + $2200/month living stipend for LA). However, the feds don't really care if the living stipend ends up in my pocket if the housing expenses are paid by aid. You can see where i'm going with this...

The feds have obligated themselves to pay the 8000 worth of fees associated with attending UCLA, and I would like to use FA to pay for the housing, so I can pocket the living stipend. I think that if I have to pay for housing out of my pocket, then my FA will be refunded to my checking account. Am I correct?
