My dad just realized that Andover's deadline for financial aid is the 15th, not the 30th (they sent him a postcard). He checked the website, but when he saw applications were due on the 30th for boarders, he assumed that included FA. Luckily, everything is in order, and everything except one document is already in anyway (copy of a 2005 tax return, which he has and is mailing asap, obviously). I expect that the late document will, of course, have some effect on a financial aid grant, if they choose to admit me. How much do you think it will? The funny thing is my dad actually called the admissions office to ask if he was missing anything before the deadline, and they said no. Anyway, any thoughts? Luckily, it was just Andover, no where else.

One second. Andover's financial aid information was due by the 15th?

Hmmm.

The deadline for filing your original Parents' Financial Form directly to SSS in Princeton, N.J. is JAN. 16, 2006. A copy of all forms sent to SSS must also be sent to Andover's Financial Aid Office.

Interesting. Since I just bashed Andover repeatedly (although it is a wonderful school and my comments are not meant to be taken seriously), I am assuming this is my quick and just punishment. :D
Well, if all the information was sent by tomorrow, the 20th, what would happen? Am I ineligible to apply?

..what a pain. the other schools have the 30th for the deadline, and they have the 15th.. why do they do this? more kids applying for FA?

Not inelligible, Chaos. You just have slightly less of a priority. I don't think it matters hugely, but I was wondering if anyone had experianced something similar and what the outcome was. Interesting that I'm not the only one who was confused. It's really weird that FA is due 15 days earlier for Andover and 15 days later for everywhere else. Very confusing.

Sent in whatever you have, this way even if something is missing you have shown an intent to apply. I hope and think that it should not matter that much.

Good luck

Wait...the applications for boarders are due on the 30th? I thought it said on the applications that they were due on the 1st!

Their applications for boarders are either due on the 31st of January or the 1st of Febuary. Can't remember.

Funny, I was just thinking about this! I called Andover's financial aid office and they said that they just need a copy for their records (you can send it in whenever) & it's only the SSS that has the deadline of the 15th

I don't know about Andover, but the schools I've dealt with all had a Jan 15 deadline for SSS, and wanted copies of tax forms and W2's for the year just ended (this year's FA applicants would send in 2006 tax forms and W2's) by the end of the first week of February (giving you 1 week to do your taxes - YOW!).

Generally, it is my understanding the FA awards are made based upon SSS's EFC, but they do want the documentation to keep people honest.
