My dear friend is helping make me something for the UA Chicago alums. She picked up some fabric which she thinks is Houndstooth - but it’s not. What the heck is this pattern (see picture link) called?

And yes I know this is slightly OT for this area. Sorry.

Looks like Shepherd’s Check.

Cuttlefish, you rock!! I have had that fabric here in my house for a week sitting here mocking me because I couldn’t find the name. :)

BTW, if anyone needs Bama fabric and does not live in an area where you can just walk into a store and buy it, Hobby Lobby has 40% off (coupon 7083) combined with 17 cent shipping today and tomorrow.

It may be Shepherd’s check (and it likely is), but depending on what it’s used for, it probably could pass. The weave isn’t a tightly fine one (like some checks), so it does almost appear to be houndstooth.

Guess what I did? I googled “pattern similar to houndstooth”! Then I went from there.

My D2 says there is an app for figuring put the song title from just a few words. I was hoping there was one for fabric patterns, flowers, trees, etc. Maybe there is one.

Anyway, you are welcome. Roll Tide!

Ah, similar to. I tried “like”. And then looking through google images until I was cross-eyed. Thanks again!

IMHO, if you can’t find a true houndstooth, Shepherd’s Check would work.

Southlander, that is probably true for any situation other than hanging in a bar named the Houndstooth. Some of the real stuff is on order. :)
