Hi all, does IU Bloomington have a parents Facebook page for accepted students?
My son was accepted at IU and we are out of state. I really don’t know much about IU. I have another son who attends Penn State and they have a private Facebook page for parents. The guidance I’ve gotten from other parents has been invaluable.
Does anyone know if a page like that exists for IU Parents? Thanks!
@GingerQueen IU has several Facebook pages, you are best to do a search. I know of a few Parents pages but they don’t seem too active. There is an IU FYE page (First Year Experience) that has some good information. I follow a few other pages but I usually see more following IU on Twitter and Instagram. My D is a Freshman at IU and is having a great time and loves the school.
For the students there is something called the Schools Ap and that is where my daughter found her room mate and then found other students in her major that then spun up Group Texts prior to arriving on campus.
@GingerQueen Welcome to IU! I have a D at PSU and one at IU. I am on the PSU Parents page which is an incredibly resource. There is nothing like that, which I have found, for IU. There are a few FB pages but none that are as active and supported. The fabulous PSU pages were started by parents. They aren’t officially associated with the school. I suppose someone would have to take the initiative to start something like what PSU has here. If you have any specific questions that I can answer, feel free to send me a PM.
@GingerQueen I have a junior at IU and a son who will be a freshman there next year. There is a Facebook page called “Parents of Future Hoosiers” but it’s not super informative. Glad to answer any questions you have!
