Anyone heading to the Academy this year have facebook already?

It is my understanding that facebook is blocked at the Academy; so use it until you go.

No I don't think it is because I have some Facebook Friends at the Academy right now. Might have just changed tho.

We have facebook, but I don't see how any 2010 people could have access to it yet since nobody from 2010 has an academy issued email account here yet.

As far as the history of facebook and the USMMA go, we got facebook in September. The commadant took it away from the regiment in October. By January we had facebook back, but there are regulations for professional conduct on facebook. For instance: There was a facebook group called, "I Can't understand what the hell Ragin is saying" This led to some severe punishments. Let this be a lesson to all you guys coming here this summer.

Good luck and do well here.

Yeah I have it from prep school and i know a lot of high schools have it so i was just throwing it out there.

My advice on such sites as facebook or myspace:don't write anything or post any photos that you wouldn't want your grandma to see or to appear on the front page of your local newspaper. This may sound old-fashioned but especially at a service academy you have to be careful. Also there was a recent story in the New York Times about how potential employers are now looking at candidates facebook entries before hiring them. Many have been excluded from jobs due to irresponsible behaviors displayed on these sites. Remember the internet is more open than you think!
