So i got into my ED school but I facepalmed when I said I do not need any merit-based scholarship. Can I still ask them to consider for scholarships? Thanks for any help! i feel extremely dumb after realizing this
Wow, you can ask, but most merit scholarships have extra applications and deadlines that are most likely past.
So you didn’t forget to apply for merit scholarships, you told the college you don’t need them? Because you applied ED, they may interpret that action as an attempt to maneuver into a better position for acceptance. You can ask, but because ED applicants have agreed to accept the admission offer if the cost is affordable, the college may not be willing to recalculate the financial aid package. It doesn’t hurt to ask, though. If you can’t afford it, you can’t attend anyway. I wouldn’t pull your other apps until you’re sure you have a package you can live with though.
Talk to your GC and parents, but I would not think it an issue to say that you marked that incorrectly and would like to be considered for merit. Like the above poster says, if you can’t afford it you can’t attend.
