Facilities/life: private vs. public, small vs. large

Hey I'm just curious about the differences between facilities/campus life/size of private vs. public schools and large vs. small schools. The schools I'm looking at are mostly private and small (<2000 students) and one school that is about 27k students and public and one that is about 10k students (including grad) and private. I'm assuming that for a larger school (say 5-10k students and up,) that there are more buildings, a larger campus, larger buildings, etc. The student center, for example, would be bigger. How would the quality of the facilities compare/differ?

My prof for dual enrollment said he didn't recommend a large school because for him it was easy to get lost amongst all the students and faculty. However.....this would vary from person to person.

Thanks!!!

The bigger school will have bigger and more of various things. But quality cannot be generalized, as it varies so much by school.

Be sure that the schools (especially the small ones) have sufficient course offerings and academic resources in your intended and possible majors.

It just really depends on the college itself. I would recommend doing research on the individual colleges you are interested in. For example, I attend a college with around 4000 students that has better facilities, buildings, and incentives than many much larger universities (I go to Rice.). The campus is even bigger than a lot of campuses with more students. However, we do have less variety in food, for example, than would a bigger campus. But you should look individually at each school.
