Hey guys, does anyone know if faculty members are involved in the admissions process? for example, say you hit it off well with a certain professor.. is there any chances of that benefitting your application? This question may seem pretentious but I heard this rumor and I wanted to validate it.
Thanks in advance

Yes, professors may put in a word for you to the admissions office but it’s totally up to the admissions office and the professor and if admissions will even consider it, unless the professor is really pushing for you.

At Cornell, the admissions office may process the applications, etc., but it’s the committee from each individual college that is made up partially of professors from that particular college that make the actual decisions. That may be where you heard that rumor.
