I just saw this posted from the EmoryWheel. I don't really know the background. What are they cutting?

Short version of what they’re referencing: Proposed Emory cuts anger some students, faculty

“The school announced in September that it would close the educational studies division, the physical education department, the visual arts department and the journalism program. It also plans to suspend admissions to the graduate programs in Spanish, economics and the Graduate Institute of Liberal Arts.”

So no serious losses.

The cancellation of the graduate Economics department isn’t a “serious loss”? I would beg to differ.

It’s only a temporary suspension. The college wants the department to reorganize itself. I spoke with Dr. Curran about it.
