<p>I just finished my first semester (freshman) at UMass Amherst. It feels like it's been AGES since I've applied for financial aid and stuff.</p>
<p>I just want to make sure that I'm on the right track - do we need to submit the FAFSA again in January? Is there anything else (not UMass specific) that we need to do?</p>

<p>Yes, you will need to submit a new FAFSA each year after January 1st. That is all you will need to do that is not school-specific. When you go to do a new FAFSA, some of the info will be pre-filled for you (not the money stuff, but the personal stuff) - so it’s even easier this year.</p>
<p>@kelsmom Thanks! I filled out the 2014-2015 one last year. But on their site, it says that the 2014-2015 one lasts all the way till the end of the school year. So is the one I’m filling out in January going to be for the next year? (2015-2016)?</p>
<p>Yes, the one you will fill out in January is for 2015-2016. The one you filled out last year is for the whole 2014-2015 aid year.</p>
<p>The 2015-2016 will be available on Jan. 1 but the 2014-2015 will still be available too. So you will have to make sure to select the correct one you want, the 2015-2016.</p>
<p>The UMass priority filing date for FAFSA is March 1. Info here:</p>
