that lives out of the country and who is not a citizen of the U.S. Son has never lived with dad, but they do have a relationship, albeit limited. Will I still have to request his father's income, (of which I have no idea what it is and how it may affect my son's aid)?

For FAFSA purposes, the father’s income would only be used if you are currently married to him. Otherwise, it’s not reported.

Profile schools will want fathers income.

Redroses, I thought so, but what type of proof will they need if that is true? There is no federal income tax to provide that I know of.

Not all Profile schools will request non custodial parent info. If they do, your son will need to ask his dad to complete the non custodial parent form.

Not all profile schools ask, but to my knowledge, every one that meets need asks for NC form or their own.

Most schools that give the best aid are CSS Profile schools and will require NCP info (either their own form or CSS NCP form)…especially since there has been contact between son and NCP. USC is a rare one that doesn’t…I believe.

What is your situation?

What state are you in?

What are your son’s stats?

What is YOUR FAFSA EFC and can you afford it? If not, how much can you contribute?
