FAFSA and CSS for Sophmore and Beyond

Our oldest is a college freshman. Last year, we completed the FAFSA and CSS and the EFC was not even close to qualifying us for any type of aid. There have not been any significant changes in our financial situation this year that would give us any indication at all that we would qualify. Is it a waste of time for us to complete these applications again this year? If we don't will we be pre-empted from completing these in the future when our financial situation does change (eg, in 2 years when we will have 2 in college)?

Thanks!

I would suggest that you do the forms. While you may not qualify for aid, you just never know. Also, if you have an unexpected circumstance (job layoff, health expenses, etc) the forms will be on file and the school will be able to reconsider your finaid. None of us want to anticipate the loss of income, but the reality is that it is better to be safe than sorry.
