FAFSA and income tax

I am a first year student in university currently. Last year I pressed my mom to complete her tax return quickly so we could fill out the FAFSA correctly and in time. She did. However, THIS YEAR she still has not completed the 2010 tax return. We were able to used the W2 forms from both my mom and my dad to find our income, but the TAX...how am I supposed to do it without the 1040?!

Now I'm freaking out. I went home this weekend specifically to help my mom fill out the FAFSA, and since we don't have the 1040, we just estimated our taxes. And then we submitted it (kind of dumb now that I'm thinking about it, but I wanted to get it in as soon as possible). But now I'm scared because someone told me I'm not supposed to do that...? What do I do? I just wanted to get it in before March 2nd, and my mom still hasn't gotten the taxes done. I don't know when she will.

Do I need to go back and correct the FAFSA BEFORE March 2nd, or will I be okay until later? I'm not worried about having to do verification because I had to do it last year. It was tedious, but pretty simple. I'm just worried now. Sorry about the worrying rant, but can you please help me?
