FAFSA and Studying Abroad

This is probably a stupid question, but I figure I'd ask anyway.

I attend a public state university and have an EFC of 0. The money I receive through FAFSA amounts to about $7000 a semester - enough to cover my tuition and living expenses. However, I'm extremely interested in studying abroad in the fall, which costs a lot more than that.

Will FAFSA give me any more money for this, or will they still see it as I'm attending my home institution and thus not allot me any more for increased living expenses?

Thanks!

Your award is based on the COA (cost of attendance); if you choose a study abroad programme through your home institution, they should list that COA on the website and you should be able to find out how the aid award would look.

Are you saying that your entire tuition/books/ room & board/ etc is $14,000 per year? That is pretty low, if the COA increases, you would need to know how your school would make up that difference? Loans? Grants?
