i plan to avoid giving my parent info and apply as homeless and having no connection to my parents. will fafsa know or or find out that my mom helps me pay off my credit card bill a few times a year? i am actually homeless by the way and i do not talk to my father at all. my mother and arent on good terms and i talk to her a few times a year.
Unless you are married, in the military, orphaned, a ward of the state, or 24yo, FAFSA will treat you as a dependent.
You will have to provide significant documentation to prove you are homeless.
Where do you live?
What’s your age?

According to this thread, the OP is 21, and is attending s state school already…and wants to be an actor.
I’m not sure how this poster plans to demonstrate he is homeless.
Same question in February. And lin February it was your father who paid your credit card bill. So which story is the true one?
Not going to happen.
So neither parent qualifies to take you as a tax dependent? That’s unfortunate if the $2500 per year American Opportunity Tax Credit could have been claimed (and kicked back to you).
agree with @Erin’sDad^
