FAFSA/CCS for second year

Hi all, D is at a 100% need school. I know their deadlines for FA but is it beneficial for us to complete the process much earlier than the deadlines as we did last year? Or is it not as important 2nd-4th year to complete first thing in January?
Thank you!

ETA…I’m not sure the info I posted below matters…as your college meets full need for all…just adhere to the deadlines!

If,the school didn’t meet full need…then this info would matter! Sorry for,the confusion.

Complete it as early as possible. There are some forms of need based aid that have restricted dollar amounts per college campus. These include Federal Work Study, and SEOG. You don’t want to lose out on these because you filed later. This is true even for upperclassmen.

There have been parents here who have reported that they did not file as early in subsequent years…and kids did not receive SEOG money. And when they inquired, they were told, money was gone.

Thank you–that’s what I needed to know!

Read my edited post. For,your situation, where the school meets full need…I don’t think it matters, as long as you file ON TIME.
