Hi forums,

The deadline for the FAFSA is already passed and I submitted it in successfully, but my colleges have been emailing me for extra documents relating to the FAFSA. Most of them asked me for documentation of citizenship, even the ones that tell me I am admitted, such as Cal Poly Pomona. I checked my Student Aid Report and I see “YES, I AM A U.S. CITIZEN (OR U.S. NATIONAL) h” and “($0 ASSUMED) h” for Parent’s 2013 U.S. Income Tax Paid. Some colleges are also asking me to make copies of the citizenship documents and sending it to them through mail. I’m panicking right now because I’ve gotten acceptance letters already, but they are still requesting these documents. Do I and can I go back to make corrections on the FAFSA even though the deadline has passed?

For Cal Poly Pomona I looked at the To Do List and one of them was US Citizenship verification, so I clicked on it and it gives me a link (http://www.csupomona.edu/~financial-aid/forms/Citizen_Eligible_Non_Citizen_Verification.pdf) in the description. Do I need to print this and fill it out and mail it to them?

*I’m an immigrant with a US Passport, but would there be a risk in the colleges not accepting it since it’s a copy?
