Someone else said this happened to them and they had entered their SSN wrong? Check that and name spelling. If it is not that simple then call your school(s) and find out what you need to do.

Sometimes, when the FAFSA is processed, the DOE has not been able to confirm the person's citizenship status with the Department of Homeland Security. I actually see this type of C-Coding quite frequently. Typically, you will just need to document your citizenship with your FA Office by presenting a copy of your birth certificate, passport, Naturalization papers, etc. Typically, the school will tell you which specific form(s) of documentation will work based on Department regulations and school policies.

Maybe you won't have to pay income taxes then! lol pardon the moronic statement

Believe me - you don't have to be a citizen to pay taxes. I'm not & I do!

As much as they talk about it on the news, I'm suprised anyone couldn't pay income taxes.... dead or alive.... lol

Everything is entered correctly, I sent emails to all my schools. GRRRRRRRRRRRrrr

ok this could have happened to me but this is what i did, i went to the social security office in early january with my american passport. I waited in line for two hours and just applied for a ss card renewal form. You just tell the teller that you want to update your citizenship status. Apparently you probably never did this after you got American citizenship

I had the same problem. What I ended up doing was calling all of the schools I applied to (quite the hassle, trust me), and asking them how they wanted me to deal with the situation. The schools then asked me to either fax or mail to them a copy of my U.S. passport, and voila! Problem taken care of. :] They also accept other forms of identification, so check with the specific school.

u are illegal!!!! lol just kidding
