FAFSA/CSS Profile

I filled out the FAFSA and Carleton College's CSS Profile, but I am yet to find a financial aid checklist in my portal. Is there supposed to be a financial aid checklist if Carleton received it?

There is no checklist on my D’s app, and I know they got the stuff because I called FA and talked to htem. The best thing to do is call the FA office. I had a very helpful chat with the person there, and learned things I did not learn anywhere else. For example, Carleton DOES use IDOC to get your tax return, W-2, etc. info. But they do not pick it up until after April 1 (so they only do it for accepted students). Just check in and see if they have what they need, and ask how you should get any missing information to them.

My DD applied EDI - and we submitted the CSS in November with estimated 2012 tax info. Now Carleton wants me to just hand write the updated info on the CSS and send it to them with some other documents. It is confusing! I thought we missed the IDOC email - but when I called IDOC and they said it had not been sent yet.
The FA Office is very helpful and nice - I second the comment to call them and ask!

It is not just a Carleton thing to send you CSS changes by handwriting the changes and faxing or mailing them. There is no automated way to update CSS after submitting it (go figure…), so pretty much all of your schools want those handwritten changes. I checked with every one of D2’s schools, and they all had us send that info a few weeks ago.

my parents and I are very confused about financial aid for Carleton. do they require the IDOC packet for applicants whose parents have not done their taxes for 2012 yet? My parents file much later in the year. they do not have any official information yet, only estimates.
