Ok I only made a FAFSA for 2007-2008 but I had problems with sending it and I didn't' have time to send the 2008-2009. My question is that will I still get any financial aid if I send the FAFSA now or is it possible to transfer my summer (2007-2008) FAFSA into a fall one. Thanks.

You should do a 2008-2009 FAFSA that reflects the info on your (and your parents) 2007 taxes...as soon as possible.

You cannot "transfer" previous FAFSA for the upcoming year. The 2008-2009 financial aid awards are based on 2007 tax year information and current assets, not what you did a year ago.

Re: will you get aid...depends on your school. Did you miss the deadline for financial aid? Does your school have any institutional money left? Were you only looking for federal aid? You might and you might not get the same aid as if you had completed the forms on time. No way of knowing. Contact your finaid office to see.

Please try to plan ahead next year. The FAFSA comes online on January 1 each year. There is plenty of time to "find time" to complete it within your school's deadline.

Thumper is correct. You must file the 2008-2009 FAFSA in order to be considered for aid in the fall. You cannot get aid for the 2008-2009 school year based on the 2007-2008 FAFSA. And No - aid you have for the summer will noot be transferable into the fall.

You may still be able to get aid for the fall depending on what type of aid you qualify for. Some federal aid such as the Pell Grant and Stafford loans are still available if your EFC is low enough to qualify you for it. Other federal aid such as the SEOG and Perkins are limited in funding and the school is only given so much to award - once they have awarded it it is gone.

Do the 2008-2009 FAFSA ASAP. It really does not take that long.

It's not really a dilemma - either you apply for aid which means you must complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA or you do not bother to complete it which means you are not applying for and will not get any aid. You have to reapply every year so in January will need to be prepared to complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA also.

Yeah your right, it is not really a dilemma and I know it is my fault. I wish I could of realize this earlier when I finished completing the 2007-2008 FAFSA. Also, when I was completing it my parent's pin number wasn't really working so I had problems filling out the 07-08 and had to mail in the signature page after counterless attempts to fix the problem SAR.

To answer your questions though (even though they are rhetorical).

Did you miss the deadline for financial aid?
I think so
Does your school have any institutional money left?
I got accepted to UF and going there but I am not sure if they have any institutional money left and I can not ask financial affairs until May 19, because of some Summer Rush.
**Were you only looking for federal aid?*
Yes I was looking for federal aid but for the most part is that I simply want to find an effective way to pay for everything else besides tutition. I have applied to scholarships and I only received one and I feel that I need to apply for more to get any chances of receiveing money.

I appreciate your time reading this and I will ask more questions when I get stuck and I will file my FAFSA 08.

You are probably fine for loans; you may be able to get federal grants still if you qualify, you may be out of luck for discretionary aid (SEOG & UF grants)
