<p>EFC code? If that is the number for your EFC, it means that your expected family contribution per FAFSA calculations is about $74070 for the upcoming year. Simply put, it is above the cost of attendance at every college in the country. It probably means you are eligible for NO need based aid. You are not eligible for any federally funded need based aid (except loans). If that is your EFC, it also means your family income is likely over $200,000 a year or you have VERY high assets.</p>

<p>It means you either have parents with a very high income or assets or you made a big mistake on the fafsa4caster or FAFSA. What it means to you is, if the former is true, you need to be looking for merit scholarships, not need-based aid.</p>
