fafsa efcs? yikes!

how much does the actual EFC vary from the estimated EFC? mine is extraordinarily low (thank god, i couldn't afford anything without aid). i'm talking around 100. in this range, should i expect something this low? or will i get screwed over?

if it helps (maybe you have experience with these schools), i applied to
university of chicago
vassar
middlebury
macalester
george washington
connecticut college
yale

thanks!

It may hurt you at connecticut, because I do not think that they are need blind

i'm pretty sure connecticut college is need-blind; it says so in their booklet. which they sent me.

From what I know, Macalester is going need-aware; I just don't know when exactly they are planning to institute the program (this application year or next application year). All I know is that it's in the works. I don't know about the others, but I know someone who is going to Middlebury (who are notorius for giving less than desirable aid packages) that got an aid package that he was quite happy with. I would assume that Yale and Vassar give relatively good aid. A friend didn't get good aid from U Chicago, but when she showed them an offer twice theirs from Swarthmore they matched it in a heartbeat (didn't matter though, she still went to Swat). Hope that was an adequate response!
