FAFSA for med professional students

Kid is entering her 5th year of the 5 year Physician Assistant program. As a grad student she's considered independent, but the site says she may want to report parent's financial information if she's in a medical field.

Since it says MAY, I'm guessing that it is optional. She already has a government grant and a scholarship from the school for the 2012 school year, and will qualify for Staffords. I don't think she'll need private loans and anyway, she's been getting them without a co-signer through a medical professionals loan program through Wells Fargo.

Is there any good reason why I should bother with the parental financial information?

The reason they say that is because many med schools require the parent info. If her school does not, there is no reason to include it. It won’t be considered, and it’s a pain for you.
