FAFSA Help!!

So, my dad filled out my FAFSA this morning, but he used fafsa.com instead if fafsa.ed.gov. I looked online and most people said its legit. He called some people and they said the only reason you pay is because you get more services and they submit the app faster. Should I trust this? My counselor has never heard of fafsa.com so he doesn't know what to do. Is fafsa.com legit? I'm really freaking out!

If it is done there is nothing to do about it now. He just paid for a free service. There is no reason to use the paid service but they are a legitimate, if disgusting, business. If he has not done it, he should use fafsa.ed.gov

I think they are legit. However, I have not use them yet; so I don’t know how they kept safe the SSN & DOB etc.

It does not go faster, it simply charges you to do what you can do for free. You get no services and it does not get placed ahead of self submitted. If he hasn’t paid just redo it on the correct self submit gov site. HS warned about this site as a scam to get people to pay for nothing.it comes up first on google search.

They are legit in that they will submit your fafsa but they are not legit in that you don’t have to pay for this. Their additional ‘service’, if any, is not worth paying for.

He should go to the proper site and redo it. There is no reason to pay a site to submit the exact same information you can submit for free.

It is a scam. May not really hurt you (though I have heard a couple of anecdotal stories here of people’s FAFSAs being delayed when using the .com site). Does not help you in any way. Certainly nonsense to think they would submit anything quicker than you can by pressing the submit button on the edu site.

Well, my dad already paid for .com one. I’ll talk him into doing the .ed.gov one tomorrow.

Why to refile FAFSA again?

However, they posted the following on their website:

So they do send the FAFSA, but the “additional services” are just a fake?
