So, I have a question about the FAFSA…

My parents are undocumented, and I have typed their social security as 000-00-0000. But I keep getting this message:

  You reported that the Parent 2 (Father's/Mother's/Stepparent's) Social Security Number (SSN) is all zeroes (000-00-0000), and the Parent 1 (Father's/Mother's/Stepparent's) SSN is blank or all zeroes. You also reported that the parents' tax return status is filed or will file, and the tax return type is not a foreign tax return.

[By the way, my parents file jointly using the 1040A, but only 1 of them works…]

If they have no SSN, you have to print out the Fafsa, have them sign, and submit manually to your school.
