Fafsa help!

okay. so i know that FAFSA only lets you enter 10 schools, so i did what i was supposed to early February and submitted the first 10 schools then made corrections for the 2 other schools that didnt make it on the list the first time.

I deleted the 10 schools that i first listed during the second transaction/correction which is what i thought that i was supposed to do.

but now that college decisions are rolling around, i have not received my financial packet. i have called fin offices and asked and so far 2 schools got my FAFSA (bc it was on my second list) and not the other 10.

My parents submitted their tax forms a little late so i just made corrections last week (because i was sure that the financial deadline that most colleges asked for was the first transaction with an estimate of the 2007 tax returns), but these 10 schools didnt even get my first FAFSA to give me an estimate.

so now im just confuse about FAFSA in general.
in conclusion, what do i do?

You probably made corrections before you got the SAR for the first 10. Resubmit the FAFSA for the first 10 (or for whatever schools are left on your list – no point in submitting to colleges that didn’t admit you or that you have already decided you don’t want to attend)

calmom, i also thought it was because i didnt get confirmation for the first 10 or something.

but i did get my SAR for the first 10…
so i dont know what went wrong.

you know how for fafsa there is a page with transactions…
the first transaction with the 10 colleges is listed there,
when i click on it, it shows me the 10 colleges that is suppose to get my FAFSA.
basically… im gonna try to resubmit it and hope for the best.

If you have the SAR for the first 10, then I’d suggest also faxing a copy of the original SAR to the colleges – that will document when it was filed. But it sounds like you still have to correct them with the updated tax information, so you should do both. If you didn’t keep a copy of the SAR, you should be able to download from the FAFSA site.
