FAFSA help

When I was filling out the FAFSA yesterday, there was an area that asked for something like your home equity, and it instructed you to subtract your house's current value with the amount you've paid or something like that. I logged back in today, and that question/box has disappeared.
In addition, when I first began filling it out, there was an area where you could check a box choosing to either give or not give your parent's financial information. That seemed strange to me initially, and we checked the box to give further info, and now that area has disappeared as well.
Has anyone had similar problems?

You don’t report your home equity in your primary home (the one you live in) at all. Only if it is a second home or investment property.

The option to not give parent financial information would usually only appear if you are an independent student for FA purposes (aged 24 and older or meet one of the other criteria).
