FAFSA--How to add more than 10 colleges?

Title is self explanatory.

I submitted my FAFSA for my first 10 and it has been processed. What do I do next to add more? How do I know the school has received my FAFSA?

I do not know if I just remove the colleges that I added, since it says that it has been processed. Do I make corrections, delete the colleges I added that have been processed, and then add more? Seems kind of counter-intuitive…

My daughter called them on the phone and got them to delete a few schools and add a few more.

You don’t have to call them on the phone.

You don’t make corrections to other fields…

Once your fafsa has processed…you go back onto that fafsa to amend. Delete the colleges there…and then add the others on. Submit again…

@thumper1 Thank you for your straightforward response.

By any chance do you know what the difference between the CSS via CollegeBoard and the FAFSA are?

Is it really necessary to do both? Or is one sufficient…

They are different. Complete the forms that each school requires you to complete, if you are asking for financial aid.

I’m pretty sure this question was already discussed somewhere on this forum, but I can’t find the thread.
I need to apply to more than 10 schools for FA (I got into 9 schools already and filling out 6 more applications).

I’m planning to first add the schools with the earliest deadlines, then delete some and add more school with the later deadlines. Is this the right way to handle the situation?

^^Yes. But only once it has been processed. This takes about a day or so.

Think you can still do it up to the deadline

Deadline for what? You can delete and add more schools at any time.

I have the same question as the OP. I understand that you can only send FAFSA information to 10 colleges in the first round. What I’m not clear on is: do you have to wait until EACH COLLEGE sends you an email notifying that it has received and processed the FAFSA before you can return to delete that college and add more colleges, OR can you delete once the FAFSA on its website says the following: “Current Application Status: Processed Successfully
Congratulations, your FAFSA was successfully processed”? My guess is the latter, i.e., NOT the college’s notification but the FAFSA, but I just want to make sure before I delete all colleges on the list.

It’s the latter.

@BelknapPoint - Thank you!

OK, based on all the responses, once FAFSA is processed digitally, you can amend it at any time after this point, if you need more colleges to access it. You don’t have to wait for a paper letter from the colleges.
If you amend it before or after the specific college’s deadline, is irrelevant to this thread. You are responsible for managing your own deadlines.

Once the FAFSA stated that everything was processed, I removed all colleges on the list and added the additional ones.

@TiggerDad Hey, paranoid senior here with the same question. That’s what I did - but my fist ones will still receive everything, correct?

Also, I found this.

should I do those instructions as well?

Thanks so much!
