I'm on the parent demographics information and I had to choose my parents marital status. This is where I get lost. My parents live together but they're not married or citizens of the U.S. and if I put that I am unable to provide parental information I will only get an unsubsidized loan. Is getting the loan the only option I have?

If you are the citizen, and your parents don’t have social security numbers, use 000-00-0000 for their SSNs. Try that, and then list them as not married and see if you can make it work.

Are you filling out the FAFSA? You will use only one parent, since they aren’t married. Because they live together, you will have to use the parent who earns more money. As long as YOU are qualified to receive federal aid, it doesn’t matter if your parent is not a citizen.
