I am a parent with college age kids so I already have a PIN I use to sign their FAFSAs. I plan to enroll at a CC to earn a Certificate. I will be applying for aid for myself. Do I use the PIN I already have or do I need to get a new one? Seems like since they have my name and SS number linked to the PIN I should be able to use it to sign my own FAFSA, but want to be sure.

You will use the PIN you already have. It’s not a “parent” PIN, but a PIN that is associated with your name/SSN/DOB. You can use it to sign as a parent or as a student, depending on what FAFSA you are filling out.

Thanks! That makes sense, but I know government rules don’t always make sense. :)
