<p>FAFSA asks for how much my father made and how much my mother made, but the 1040 form only tells you how much they made together, not individually. It says to "add father's portion, lines 7 + 18 + 22" and same for my mother, but the form doesn't even tell you that! It's not form 1040 EZ, it's just form 1040. So would the numbers just be the same for each block? But then wouldn't that mean they're making double? What do I do? </p>
<p>You have to look at each of their W-2s to see how much each had from work. There are also source schedules that feed into lines 18 and 22 that you would have to look at if there are amounts on those 1040 lines.</p>
