FAFSA PIN question

Hi. I've already been given FAFSA PIN number. I was also told that one of my parents has to request one too. I'm US citizen living in Europe but my parents don't have US citizenship and don't posses Social Security numbers. I've searched the forum and found out that I should put 000000000 in the ssn number field but when I write it down in the PIN request it can't go through. What should I do? I'd prefer to apply for FAFSA online and signing it with PIN online rather than mailing it to the FAFSA center.

Looks like you’ll have to do it by mail.

Your parent can’t get a PIN without an SSN. You can file FAFSA online and use zeroes there for your parent. You can sign the FAFSA with your PIN. But you will have to print out a signature page for your parent and have them fill it out and sign it and mail it to the address on the signature page.
